WHAT IS ORIGAMI?

Origami is the traditional Japanese art of paper folding. Ori means to fold and Kami means paper. Together it forms a word Origami which is the art of paper folding in which we have to fold a paper which at the end turns out to be any decorative item or figure. Using our Origami skills and techniques we can make paper swan, flower, butterfly, etc.

 

HISTORY OF ORIGAMI

The history of Origami begin after the Buddhist Monks transported paper to Japan in the 6th century which resulted the use of paper in the society. Earlier all the types of paper folding were not known by the term Origami instead they were known by some other varieties of those days common names such as orisue, orikata and many more. The basics of origami starts with what is origami and the main types of origami.

 

TYPES OF ORIGAMI?

#WET FOLDING:

Wet Folding is an origami technique developed by Akira Yoshizawa in which we have to dampen the paper so that it can be handled in a skillful manner very simply

#MODULAR:

The term Modular means multiple or many. It means that for this type of origami you will need multiple pieces of pages.

#GOLDEN VENTURE FOLDING

Golden Venture Origami, also known as 3d origami or Chinese Paper folding is a type of origami in which models are made by folding hundreds of small triangles from different colors of paper and interconnecting them together. The wedges of paper grip together to minimize the need for adhesive, even though a very little quantity of glue is sometimes used. For ex Golden Venture Origami Swan.

#KRIGAMI

Krigami is a type of origami in which cutting of paper is used while in origami paper is folded. For ex Krigami Origami Flowers.

#ACTION

Action Origami is an Origami that can be animated, first starting from the traditional Japanese flapping bird.

FABRIC FOLDING

Fabric Folding is an origami which is different then others as in this kind of origami instead of paper, fabric is used to make the decorative item or figure. For ex fabric folded flower.
